What makes the tool useful?
With the EAACA LCA Tool, users can create and compare wall constructions in a structured way. Material data can be adapted, extended and saved in freely configurable databases. This allows users to work with regional values, national datasets, specific products or their own assumptions.
The tool also includes a realistic recarbonation approach for autoclaved aerated concrete. This makes it possible to consider the carbon uptake of AAC during and after the use phase in a more transparent and product-specific way.
Instead of looking only at isolated material values, the tool helps users see the full picture: how each layer contributes, how different life-cycle modules influence the result and how alternative wall solutions compare.
A practical starting point for better decisions
The first version of the EAACA LCA Tool is intended as a transparent and practical starting point. It does not replace verified Environmental Product Declarations according to EN 15804 or project-specific building LCAs according to EN 15978. Results depend on the selected datasets, user inputs and scenario assumptions.
But this is precisely where the tool adds value: it makes assumptions visible, allows comparisons and helps users understand what really drives the environmental performance of wall constructions.
